Today we got mail from a german challenge site,
http://happy-security.de.

They like to join us, and now i ask you, if you like to have sites working, which are not english at all.

I think it would be nice to have another site working.
You might think i am biased, because my native language is german, but i'd also allow any other language, maybe beside chinese or russian like. (because of charsets)

So please leave a comment here, if you like challenge sites with other languages here, or not.

Regards
Gizmore

Well..it's still nice to mess with new challenges, if at least the explaination or hints are clear enough (id say).
Why not..? But I have enough material to play wargames for a looong time before getting in touch with this website. ;)

Also could provide you a contact to a french wargame.

edit: Heh wouldn't it create problems if you accept a german-based website but not a finlandish one ? or a tibetan one ? And adding more things to solve would considerably slowdown some ppl's score.

Some issues, though I'm for adding new sites especially at this beginning stage:

1) If wechall is to be known as a universal challenger tracking site, the language that's used for the challenges of the particular site should preferably be one that the majority of people understand.

2) If there's an over-proportion of challenge sites of a particular language, wechall members who don't understand that language will be greatly disadvantaged.

i'm italian and i play english and french challenge site.. for me there is no problem adding other challenge site in foreign language.
I think is a "challenge in the challenge" solve other chall in a different languages, and maybe is a way to learn too..
Look at you, hacker. A pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?

On second thoughts...

People can use translation services (e.g. babel fish) to translate the entire site or challenge.

Also, over time, maybe the admins of the site concerned will add English to the native language to encourage more people to join their site (e.g. Hackquest has German as well as English content)

Thank you for your responses.

I had a quick talk with the admin of happy-security.

We agreed to make the site work as soon as possible,
BUT the site will score from 0 to very low in the beginning.

When there are more sites we will raise the score slowly,
especially when there are more foreign sites.

silkut: Would be really great to have a french site working Smile I guess we all are happy to list more sites (and make them work)

Edit: I hope you like the trade-off ;)

It's great to see happy-security here. I played there a few years ago. The site has many interesting challs, but everything was German so it took me a lot of effort to get into the top 200.
Would be great if all challs have an English version Drool
